About Us
The Whistler is an online community magazine serving Australia's Blue Mountains. It was launched by Bloogle to celebrate the arrival of Apple's iPad in Australia.
The iPad raised great expectations in the publishing industries - newspapers, magazines and books - due to its tablet design, its touch-screen and portability.
Unlike a blog, the Whistler is structured like a traditional magazine – but with the advantages of online delivery, clickable links and an embedded archive that's searchable from every page.
It's also a testbed for responsive web design that delivers adaptable layouts for various browsing devices – from smart phones and tablet computers to netbooks, notebooks, laptops and desktop computers.
Contributed articles are welcome, but should satisfy the magazine's editorial policy, which embraces three goals:
- Glance back at the past
- Analyse the present
- Reflect on the future
Articles must have relevancy for people living in or visiting Australia's Blue Mountains.
